Cave del Duca

Music lovers will find their perfect escape when Panorama Festival Italy 2026 arrives in Lecce this August. Set in the historic Cave del Duca – a natural limestone amphitheatre on the edge of the city – the festival welcomes around 10,000 fans for three nights of world-class electronic music in Puglia. The quarry's terraced viewing points and open-air acoustics create an immersive setting where house and techno sit against Salento's warm summer nights.

This guide covers everything you need for Panorama Festival Italy 2026: how to reach Cave del Duca from Brindisi or Bari, where to stay in Lecce, August weather, and what to pack. On-site camping is not available, so book accommodation early.

How to Get There: Transport & Logistics

Panorama Festival 2026 takes place at Cave del Duca, Via delle Cave del Duca di Torrevecchia, 73100 Lecce – not at the former Salento Arena site. The quarry is outside Lecce city centre and is not walkable from the historic centre, so plan your journey in advance.

Closest Airports

1. Brindisi – Salento Airport (BDS)

Distance: ~45 km
Brindisi is the most convenient airport. By car or taxi, allow around 45–50 minutes to Cave del Duca via Lecce. Official festival shuttles and private transfers can be booked in advance – check the Panorama Festival mobility page and the WeGoo app for shuttle routes and pickup points.

2. Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI)

Distance: ~170 km
From Bari, drive or take a train to Lecce (about 1 hour 30 minutes by rail), then connect to the venue by festival shuttle, taxi, or SGM city bus. Allow around 2 hours 30 minutes by car direct to Cave del Duca.

3. Corfu International Airport (CFU)

Distance: ~160 km (includes ferry)
International visitors sometimes fly via Corfu and cross to Italy by ferry. From the port, continue by car or transfer to Lecce and onward to the venue – allow around 3 hours depending on ferry connections.

Getting to the Venue

  • Trains/Public Transport: Lecce station (Piazzale Oronzo Massari) is well connected from Bari, Rome, and other Italian cities. From the station, take an SGM city bus – line R7 towards Leuca, alighting at the Leuca–Pepini stop, then allow a 20-minute walk to Cave del Duca. Check current timetables at sgmlecce.it.

  • Buses/Shuttles: Official festival shuttles run from strategic points in Lecce to Cave del Duca during event days. Book via the WeGoo app (App Store / Google Play). Brindisi airport transfers are also available through festival partners – book ahead, especially for late-night returns.

  • Late-Night Return: Plan your return before the last set. Festival shuttles and pre-booked taxis are the most reliable options after midnight. SGM night services are limited – do not assume a public bus will be available when the festival ends.

  • Taxi & Rideshare: Taxis and NCC (private hire) operate in Lecce – pre-book for late finishes. On-site parking is available at Cave del Duca if you are driving.

Where to Stay

Camping is not available at Panorama Festival 2026, so book accommodation in Lecce well in advance. The historic centre – around Piazza Sant'Oronzo and the baroque old town – is the most popular base: restaurants, bars, and evening atmosphere, with festival shuttles or taxis to Cave del Duca each day.

Lecce fills up quickly once August dates are confirmed, so reserve as soon as your tickets are sorted. Apartment rentals suit groups staying for the full weekend; hotels and B&Bs near the centre offer the easiest daily logistics.

If central Lecce is sold out, consider nearby coastal towns such as Gallipoli or Otranto, but factor in extra travel time to and from Cave del Duca each night. Check cancellation policies when booking.

Weather

Dates: 14 August 2026 to 16 August 2026

Season: Summer

Mid-August in Lecce brings hot Mediterranean days – often low to mid-30s°C – with warm evenings ideal for open-air sets at Cave del Duca. Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, high SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sturdy shoes for the quarry terrain. A light layer helps for late-night breezes.

What to Bring

Earplugs: Your ears take the worst hit at multi-day festivals. Loop keeps the music sounding full at a safe volume – so the last set hits as hard as the first. We love recommending a product we've been using ourselves for years.
