Marc Almond is an English singer-songwriter and musician, best known as the lead vocalist of synth-pop duo Soft Cell, whose diverse work encompasses new wave, cabaret jazz, and electronic music. What marks him out at festivals is his soulful voice, his tendency to blend genres, and interpretations of torch songs and 1980s pop history, at times incorporating Russian folk music.
