Emel is a Tunisian-American singer-songwriter born in Tunis, Tunisia, and based across Paris and New York City, who fuses Arabic and North African composition with UK electronic, trip hop, and art rock, releasing on Partisan Records. She rose to international prominence as "the voice of the Arab Spring" with her protest anthem "Kelmti Horra", performing it at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo.
